Color variations of the Pattern of Happiness goshuincho

The Pattern of Happiness is a pattern loved by people since ancient times, known for its beauty, vitality, nobility, and fragrant image.

We have designed a modern version by dyeing the good motifs of the pattern of auspiciousness in a contemporary lifestyle.

The colors include a warm red series,

and a bright, pop yellow series in two colors.

While the colors are subdued, each has its own personality, making them ideal as items to brighten up your goshuincho tour.

※ Because these are handmade using large sheets of paper, there may be individual differences in the placement of the pattern. Please understand this in advance.

Fusion of refined design and artisan skills

This goshuincho is a special masterpiece handcrafted one by one by artisans who belong to Kyoto's box-making workshops.

The exterior uses hand-dyed Japanese paper. Each piece expresses subtle differences in appearance, demonstrating a unique charm.

Enrich your enjoyment of shrine and temple visits

The size of the goshuincho is a large B6 size of about 18cm by 12cm. It is an easy-to-use size that allows you to neatly paste your goshuin stamps and write in them.

In the snake stomach binding style, the number of pages is 48 pages on the front and back (24 sheets).

Because it is folded and stacked like an accordion, you can see multiple goshuin at a glance when unfolded.

Of course, as a goshuincho, it is also versatile enough to be used as a mini notebook, scrapbook, travel notebook, or recipe notebook, which is another attractive feature.

Every time you handle it, your heart is calmed, making your shrine and temple visits even more enriching.

Hand-dyed charm stands out in the detail

The hand-dyed Japanese paper used in this goshuincho is original to Fuwa Market. It is handcrafted one by one by artisans specializing in friendazome Japanese paper dyeing in Kyoto.

Thanks to traditional techniques, the deep colors and unique combinations are enchanting. Looking at the grain of the paper, you can sense the dense colors unique to hand-dyed paper.

Subtle variations in intensity and gradation bring out a unique beauty that only handcrafted items can express.

Each edition is carefully dyed, giving warmth and depth that simple prints cannot express.

The craftsmanship highlights the delicate beauty of Japanese paper. Each use allows you to feel the meaning of traditional patterns and the artisan skills of Japan.

We hope you experience the charm of this combination of artisan craftsmanship and warmth brought to life by handwork.

Wishes and prayers woven into traditional patterns

[Pattern of Happiness]

Plum blossom of health and disaster prevention

A delicate flower that blooms defiantly against the cold wind and frost. Along with its faint sweet fragrance, it heralds the arrival of spring early.

The quiet and calm winter scenery colors of red, pink, and white azalea-like hues evoke a breath of life.

Many ancient songs remain in Japan's oldest anthology "Manyoshu" themed on "plum blossom," and it has fascinated people since ancient times.

Speaking of plum blossoms as a motif of auspiciousness, it is the tea "Daifukucha" made by drying plum branches and adding Kunpu (aromatic herbs). Its origin dates back to the Heian period when Emperor Murakami drank it during illness and recovered.

It became customary to drink it while wishing for a year free from illness and disaster.
