About the manufacturer

The sandals are manufactured in Sagae, Yamagata Prefecture by Karube Zori, a manufacturer that supports the feet of sumo wrestlers, referees, and actors in period dramas.

Many domestic manufacturers of zori sandal covers have gone out of business, and there are now only a handful left in the country.

As it becomes more difficult to obtain materials every year, the young Karube brothers from the founding family have launched the "K-Bros" series in order to convey cool Japanese footwear.
