Clover arabesque
This traditional design combines cloves, which have been prized since the Heian period (794-1185) for their medicinal, perfuming, and dyeing properties, and arabesques, which are symbols of prosperity and longevity.
Kamawanu tenugui are made using the "Chusen" dyeing technique, which has been used since the Meiji era. Therefore, the finished product is slightly different even with the same dye depending on the weather, temperature, humidity, and other factors of the day.
