よつめ染布舎
Yotsume dyed cloth | Gama mouth | SASHIKO Aonori | Blue color Neibi
It is a fabric dyed using the technique called "katazome" but it is hand-stitched.
Since the entire process from stencil making to dyeing is done by hand, each piece has its own unique character.
Because the frame shakes and the patterns are not perfectly uniform—this kind of handmade work creates a “shaking” effect that gives the fabric a warmly charming expression. It is an item that conveys the human touch that digital printing cannot express.
※ Because the way the stencil appears changes depending on the cutting position, you cannot choose the stencil placement. Thank you for your understanding. ※
A comfortable size that you want to add to your daily life
It is a size that fits snugly in both hands and is not bulky even when put in a bag.
Also, it can hold small items such as a lip cream or makeup tools, making it just the right size.
Because it has a wide opening, it opens and closes smoothly. You can easily open it with one hand and quickly take out or put in what you need, so it is very convenient.

The quality you feel every time you hold it
The hardware uses brass, giving a nostalgic and well-practiced atmosphere.

The inside is lined with thick fabric, making it a sturdy construction that gives a sense of security.
The contrast with the dyed fabric on the outside is exquisite, adding a little extra charm every time you open it.
Each piece is made with thoughtfulness
Making the pouch is done by "Yotsume dyed fabric pouch."
At this dye workshop, traditional Japanese techniques such as "katazome" (stencil dyeing) and "tsutsugaki" (freehand rice-paste resist dyeing) are used to create patterns on fabric, which are then made into products like this pouch.
The surface of the pouch uses "katazome."
Katazome starts with creating stencil paper from an original drawing. The stencil is placed on the fabric, and a paste made from rice bran or soybean is applied to create a resist. The paste-covered areas do not absorb dye and remain white, forming the pattern.
Once the paste has dried, dye is applied with a brush. If using a single color, the process finishes in one go, but when working with multiple colors, each color is applied one by one almost like painting.
Finally, when the paste is washed away with water, the pattern emerges clearly and the drying process completes the work.
In this way, after a long process, one piece of fabric is completed and then shaped into a pouch.
Stencils that can only be found here
All the stencils used by "Yotsume dyed fabric pouch" are original. Therefore, this design is only available here.
While evoking the image of traditional Japanese刺し子 (sashiko) patterns, it also conveys a Western atmosphere like a checkered motif, making it an easy-to-use design even for Japanese-style fabrics without over-dyeing.
