The fabric, woven from hemp and cotton, is durable, breathable, and moisture-absorbent, making it lively and comfortable even in sunny or humid conditions.

Containing hemp improves breathability, making it comfortable to wear even on hot summer days when you sweat. It is a pleasant point that it remains soft and comfortable even after washing.

The Skilled Craft of Dyeing Continuing Since the Meiji Era

Kamawanu’s handkerchiefs are made using the unique Japanese dyeing technique called “Chusen” which has been passed down since the Meiji era. By preventing dye backflow and dyeing the fabric in one go, the handkerchiefs can be used reversibly without lining.

Due to the manual process, subtle variations and “playfulness” occur in the colors and patterns, changing the atmosphere the more you use it. Each piece develops into a unique presence, like a companion that becomes more lively over time.

[Product Details]

・Material: 100% hemp
・Dyeing technique: Chusen
・Country of origin: Japan

[Regarding Care]

・Both ends of the handkerchief are unfinished (no hemming). To prevent fraying, please cut the edges with pinking shears or similar tools before use. After washing 2 to 3 times, fraying will lessen.

[Regarding Washing]

・When washing, hand wash gently with lukewarm water, lightly stretch the fabric, avoid direct sunlight, and dry in the shade.
・Avoid leaving it soaked for long periods.
・At first, excess dye will wash out, but after washing 2 to 3 times, the color will settle.
・Using bleach or strong alkaline detergents may damage the fabric.
・Using hot water will warm the handkerchief, but depending on the dye, slight fuzzing or color fading may occur.

[Cautions]

・Sometimes unique irregularities occur due to the dyeing process. Since these irregularities are caused by the dye, please wash several times to reduce them and use with confidence.
・Color fading may vary depending on the environment where it is used or stored.
