Potato Bag Animal Mustard

The fabric used for the bag is makumo original fabric. From sewing to the fabric design and dyeing, everything is done by hand, so you won't find these unique patterns and color schemes anywhere else.

Gentle for the user
The potato bag is a large size with an opening width of 40cm and a height of 30cm. Made from sturdy canvas (cotton), you can trust it to hold plenty of items.
The opening has a zipper to securely protect the contents, which is another nice feature.
The shoulder straps are wrapped with quilt batting for a comfortable feel.
They are also adjustable in length, so you can use the bag as a tote or as a shoulder bag.
Valuing playfulness
The inside of the bag is a vivid green.
Every time you reach in and out of the bag, it gives a little lift to your spirits — that playful touch is hidden inside the bag.
It also has an inner pocket so small items can be stored neatly.
It starts with the fabric design
The base is a pure white canvas fabric.
makumo's bags begin with the fabric design.
Designer Fukuyama studied dyeing at an art school and after experiences such as papercutting, she founded makumo. The patterns and colorings she creates are pop yet carry a somewhat nostalgic retro feel, vivid and distinctive.
Subtle variations that come from handcrafting
Araki brings Fukuyama's designs to life.
The technique used is "hand dyeing (tenassen) / silkscreen." A stencil is made for each color, and with a large spatula called a squeegee, the dye is carefully pressed into the fabric, layering one color at a time.
The dyed fabric produced this way shows slight variations even with the same design, creating depth and warmth that digital printing cannot reproduce.
The fabric, completed through many steps, is then transformed into the potato bag by skilled sewing artisans.
