Potato Bag - Rabbit Tribe
A cute, round bag shaped like a little potato.

The fabric used for the bag is makumo's original material. From sewing to the fabric's design and dyeing, everything is done by hand, so you won't find these unique patterns and color combinations anywhere else.
Featuring a rabbit motif while keeping a brown-based, mature palette. You can subtly show your fondness for rabbits.
Gentle for the user
The potato bag is a large size with an opening width of 40cm and a height of 30cm. Made from sturdy canvas (cotton), it’s reliable even when filled with lots of items.
The opening has a zipper to securely protect the contents, which is another great feature.
The shoulder strap is wrapped with quilt batting for a comfortable feel.
The length is adjustable, so you can use it as a tote or as a shoulder bag.
Valuing playfulness
The inside of the bag is a vivid sky blue.
Every time you reach in or pull something out, your spirits lift — that playful touch is hidden inside the bag.
There is also an inner pocket, so you can neatly store small items.
It starts with the fabric design
The base is pure white canvas.
makumo’s bags begin with the fabric design.
Designer Fukuyama graduated from an art school’s dyeing department and, after experience with papercutting and other crafts, founded makumo. Her patterns and color choices are pop yet carry a nostalgic retro feel, resulting in vivid and distinctive designs.
Differences in expression born from handcrafting
It is Araki who brings Fukuyama’s designs to life.
The technique used is "tenassen (hand-printing) / silk screen." A stencil is made for each color, and dyes are carefully pressed into the fabric one color at a time using a large squeegee called a skeggi.
The resulting fabric, even with the same design, shows slight variations in expression and creates depth and warmth that digital printing cannot achieve.
After many processes, the finished fabric is transformed into the potato bag by skilled seamstresses.
