Traditional Patterns and Craftsmanship Woven Together, Beautiful and Practical Goshuincho (Stamp Books)

The “Pattern of Happiness” series is an original design that blends traditional Japanese patterns, which carry the meaning of wishing for happiness, with a textile designer’s creativity.

One of the series’ motifs is the plum blossom, loved by people since ancient times for its beauty, vitality, nobility, and fragrant elegance.

We designed the pattern to modernize the good motifs of tradition into a contemporary lifestyle.

Meticulous Craftsmanship: Carefully crafted one by one at a specialized workshop in Kyoto
Modern Traditional Patterns: Enjoy the fun of choosing from six types of patterns and two colors
Also Perfect as Elegant Gifts: The “Pattern of Happiness” conveys special thoughts

Enrich Your Enjoyment of Visiting Shrines and Temples

The goshuincho (stamp book) size is a standard large size of 18cm by 12cm (B6). It is a convenient size that makes it easy to write and allows you to neatly attach your goshuin stamps.

With a snake belly fold, the total number of pages is 48 (24 sheets).

Because it is folded with one long sheet of paper like an accordion, when opened, you can see multiple goshuin stamps at a glance.

Of course, the goshuincho can also be used for various purposes beyond temple and shrine visits, such as for mini notebooks, scrapbooks, travel notes, recipe notebooks, and collections of works, which adds to its charm.

Each time you hold it in your hands, your heart is calmed, making your shrine and temple visits even richer moments.

Craftsmanship That Stands Out in Hand-Dyed Paper

The hand-dyed washi paper used for this goshuincho is carefully handcrafted one by one by skilled craftsmen specializing in friend washi dyeing at a professional workshop in Kyoto.

The deep colors and unique blends created by traditional techniques are captivating.

Looking closely at the fibers, you can feel the subtle layering of colors unique to hand-dyeing.

Subtle variations in intensity and gradation bring out a unique beauty that only handcrafted work can express.

Each copy is carefully dyed, creating depth and warmth that cannot be expressed by simple printing.

The hand-dyed washi paper for the cover is also handcrafted one by one by Kyoto’s box-making craftsmen. Each subtle difference in expression brings out a special feeling just for you.

We invite you to experience the charm of the warm texture and unique blend created by the artisans’ craftsmanship.

Wishes and Prayers Woven into Plum Blossom Patterns

Plum Blossom for Health and Disaster Prevention

A lovely flower that blooms proudly in the cold wind and frost. Along with its faint sweet fragrance, it heralds the early arrival of spring.

The calm winter scenery of red, pink, and white gentle colors makes you feel the breath of life.

Many songs in Japan’s oldest anthology, the "Manyoshu," use the plum blossom as a theme, enchanting people since ancient times.

Speaking of plum blossoms as a motif, it is based on the tea “Daifuku-cha,” which includes dried plums and kombu (kelp). Its origin dates back to the Heian period when Emperor Murakami drank it during illness and recovered.

It became a drink to wish for a year free of illness and disaster.

The colors are a warm red series,

and a bright, pop yellow series. While the colors harmonize, each has its own personality, making them perfect as a goshuincho item to color your shrine visits.

※ Because they are made by cutting large sheets of paper, there are individual differences in the placement of the fibers. Please understand this.
