The dyeing technique "Chusen" handed down from the Meiji era artisans

Kamawanu's hand-dyed fabric has been made using the unique Japanese dyeing technique "Chusen" since the Meiji era. By placing resist paste and pouring dye all at once, it is characterized by being reversible and usable on both sides without lining.

Due to the handcrafting process, subtle “playfulness” appears in the colors and patterns, changing the atmosphere the more you use it. Each piece is unique and develops into a complementary existence like a pair that brightens each other.

[Regarding Care]

・Both ends of the hand-dyed fabric are left unfinished without cutting. To prevent fraying at the start of use, please cut the horizontal threads with scissors or similar. After washing 2 to 3 times, the fraying will settle down.

[Regarding Washing]

・When washing, hand wash gently with plenty of water, lightly stretch the fabric, and dry in the shade while avoiding direct sunlight.
・Avoid leaving the fabric soaked or wet for a long time.
・At the beginning of use, excess dye will come off, but this will settle down after washing 2 to 3 times.
・Due to the bleaching effect of detergents, colors may fade rapidly.
・Using detergents with bleach or strong alkaline detergents may damage the fabric.
・Using a bath will warm the fabric, but depending on the dye, stains may appear and color fading may occur.

[Precautions]

・Occasionally, unique stains may appear on the hand-dyed fabric. Since these stains are often caused by the dye, please reduce usage gradually while washing repeatedly. Please use with confidence.
・Color tone may vary depending on the viewing environment.
