The refreshing feeling of plum blossoms, a hand towel that adds a touch of brightness

The moment you dip the plum silk cloth in water, a faint sourness gently spreads, creating a refreshing green color.

The design, which lines up realistic images of plums here and there, offers a lightness that touches your heart every time you touch it.

Perfect for wiping your hands or face during the hot season. The gentle green color visually expresses a “cool feeling,” and just using it will make you feel refreshed.

Of course, as a hand towel, it’s also active as a coaster or for wrapping a lunch box. It brightens your daily life as a lunch mat or kitchen linen.

The gentle and soft color and lovely plum design are sure to be appreciated as a small summer gift for someone tired of the heat. It conveys a heartfelt seasonal feeling.

Hand-dyed, 100% cotton comfort

The hand-dyed fabric of Nijiyura uses the “Kōsara-shi” technique, which produces a subtle “happy” eye pattern.

Compared to usual, more time is spent removing impurities through traditional sun-drying processing, resulting in a smooth texture that feels pleasant on the skin.

The more you use it, the softer it becomes, gently complementing the brightness of everyday life.

Japan’s unique dyeing technique “Chūsen”

Chūsen is a Japan-exclusive dyeing technique born in Osaka during the Meiji era.

By pouring dye onto the fabric, it is possible to dye 20 to 30 pieces of fabric at once.

Since the fabric is layered like a stack of paper and dyed twice from front and back, the beautiful finish without distinction between front and back is a major feature.

The process is quite complex, and all work is done by skilled artisans. Therefore, no two pieces are exactly the same.

The delicate and soft texture created by the handwork is the greatest charm of Chūsen dyeing.
