Traditional Patterns and Craftsmanship Woven Together, Beautiful and Practical Hand Towels

The "Pattern of Happiness" series is an original design born from the traditional Japanese patterns that embody the meaning of "wishing for happiness," created together with a textile designer.
One of the patterns, Nanten (Heavenly Bamboo), is a plant cherished since ancient times as a symbol of "warding off evil" and "repelling misfortune."
We designed this motif, which is believed to bring good fortune, into a modern lifestyle style with a subtle dyeing technique.
✔ Careful Craftsmanship: Each piece is carefully dyed by artisans at a dyeing workshop in Kyoto.
✔ Modern Traditional Patterns: Enjoy choosing from three types of patterns and two color variations.
✔ Practical and Versatile: Suitable for daily use such as tablecloths, stools, and cabinets.
✔ Also for High-Quality Gifts: The "Pattern of Happiness" conveys special heartfelt wishes.
Adding a Touch of Japanese Beauty to Your Everyday

The size of the hand towel is approximately 90cm x 35cm. Although it is almost the same size as a face towel, it is thin and compact, which is its merit.
The fabric becomes softer with use, made of 100% smooth cotton that feels gentle on the skin.

Whether wrapping, decorating, or folding, this hand towel adds a quietly comforting and harmonious beauty to your daily life.

Wishes and Prayers Woven into the Nanten Pattern

Nanten for Warding Off Evil
Nanten is a plant that has been treasured since ancient times as a medicinal herb brought from China during the Heian period, believed to suppress misfortune.
From late autumn to early winter, it bears many bright red berries, and it is cherished as a Nanten tree that carries the wish to "turn misfortune into good fortune" by reading the characters for "difficulty" and "turning".
Also, placing it in the entrance is believed to prevent evil spirits from entering.
The Hyakugaku Jiten (encyclopedia of hundreds of sciences) from the Edo period states, "Planting Nanten prevents fire disasters," and many households plant it in unlucky directions to protect their homes from fire disasters.

The colors include warm reds,

and two shades of gentle blues. While the colors harmonize softly, each has its own personality, adding vibrant Japanese beauty to everyday life.
※ Because the fabric is cut by hand, there may be individual differences in the placement of the pattern. Please understand this in advance.

This partnership was born from the experiences of the representative of Fuwa Market and the Nishida family.

By participating in the manufacturing site, we ask for work within a feasible range that connects the users' confidence and joy, and we return the corresponding compensation (wages).
Fuwa Market values the cooperation of "craftsmen's skills and the hands of related people coming together to shape the product" in such a collaboration.
