The "Pattern of Happiness" series is an original design born from the traditional Japanese patterns that embody the meaning of "wishing for happiness," created together with a textile designer Fuwa Market.

One of the patterns, Nanten, is a plant cherished since ancient times as a "demon repellent" and "evil remover."

We designed the good fortune brought by the pattern into a modern lifestyle.

Exquisite artisan skills: Carefully crafted one by one at a specialized workshop in Kyoto
Modern traditional patterns: Enjoy choosing from six types of patterns in two colors
Durable and long-lasting: Strongly woven with fibers, very durable
Also perfect as a high-quality gift: "Pattern of Happiness" conveys special thoughts

A Japanese beauty that makes writing enjoyable

Washi is a traditional Japanese papermaking technique. Fibers are tightly woven to unify the front and back paper into one notebook.

The hand-crafted notebooks, carefully woven, become more charming the more you use them with a pleasant feeling.

Because the fibers are tightly woven, the pages do not easily come loose, allowing long-term use with affection.

Highly compatible with fountain pens, writing feels smooth. Perfect for diaries, travel journals, sketchbooks, poetry collections, idea notes, and more—turning your daily writing into a special time.

Detail where the charm of hand-dyeing stands out

The hand-dyed Washi paper used in this Washi notebook is carefully handcrafted one by one by skilled artisans specializing in friend Washi dyeing at a workshop in Kyoto.

The deep colors and unique blends created by traditional techniques are truly captivating.

Looking at the dyed paper, you can feel the subtle layering of colors unique to hand-dyeing.

Subtle gradations and shades create a unique beauty that can only be achieved through handcrafted work.

Each edition is carefully dyed, giving rise to warmth and depth that cannot be expressed by simple printing.

The craftsmanship highlights the delicate Japanese beauty in every detail. Each time you use it, you can feel the meaning of Japanese artisan skills and traditional patterns.

Experience the charm of this harmonious warmth born from artisan craftsmanship.

Wishes and prayers embedded in the Nanten pattern

Nanten as a demon repellent

Nanten is a plant passed down from China during the Heian period, valued as a medicinal herb that suppresses curses since ancient times.

From the end of autumn to early winter, it bears many bright red fruits, symbolizing the wish to "turn hardships into blessings" from the reading of "nan" meaning difficulty and "ten" meaning to turn.

Also, placing it near the entrance is believed to ward off evil spirits, giving it the meaning of a demon repellent.

In the Edo period's Hyakka Jiten (Encyclopedia of a Hundred Professions), it is written that "planting Nanten prevents fires," and many households planted it as a talisman to protect their homes from fire disasters.

A warm red series,

and a gentle blue series in two colors are available. While the colors are subdued, they have personality and are perfect as a colorful item for your daily writing.

※ Because large sheets are cut to make them, there are individual differences in the placement of the dyed paper. Please understand this in advance.
