Feeling the Depths of Autumn: The "Whispering Breeze" That Evokes the Season

The golden hues of the wind carry the season along.

Depicting the autumn scene where leaves blown by the breeze pile up.

This is a series portraying "everyday life in Kyoto" with motifs unique to Kyoto.

The Craftsmanship of Woodblock Prints Creates "Colors Full of Life"

The traditional woodblock printing technique, layered with careful brushwork, produces deep and rich colors that cannot be achieved by printing alone, allowing one to enjoy the harmony of the textures.

The size is slightly larger than a postcard, and whether placed on a shelf, in a living room, a corridor, or under a shrine, it becomes a picture. Since it is a compact size, it is also perfect as a seasonal gift replacement.

[Recommended for These People]

- Those who want to add a touch of ease to their busy daily lives

- Those who want to incorporate small artworks with a sense of craftsmanship

- Those who want to enjoy a genuine "natural lighting" even in a small space

If displayed in a room, it creates a relaxing space where natural light gently visits. Every time you find it, please enjoy the rich moments as if small autumn leaves are dancing down in the room.

Also as a "Seasonal Gift" That Stays in the Heart

The autumn scenery carries messages of "reality" and "circling seasons." It is easy to choose as a seasonal gift for housewarmings, moving celebrations, or seasonal greetings, and it resonates deeply as a gift that touches the recipient’s heart.

About the Product

The woodblock prints use white Japanese paper with a slightly textured surface. The paper is well-suited for woodblock prints due to its good color development and durability.

Traditional printing techniques called "hand-pulled woodblock prints" are used, where the carved woodblocks are colored one by one on paper.

The Brand "Takezandō"

Takechū woodblock prints were founded in Kyoto in 1891. For over 130 years, they have inherited various Kyoto printing techniques from the mass production of Japanese paintings to commercial printing.

Currently, Kiyotaka Takenaka, the owner, researches old techniques and teaches them to young artisans. The sixth generation, Kenji Takenaka, established Takezandō and has created new works, selling woodblock prints and paper stationery at the shop.

The sixth generation artist Sugako Harada blends tradition and modern design, gaining popularity, and Takezandō continues to grow.

Currently, they handle product packaging that utilizes woodblock prints and also repair old prints, always pursuing new possibilities.
