Yotsume dyed cloth | Gama mouth unlimited flowers Yamafuki

Price $1,034.00 TWD (tax included)

It is a cloth dyed using the technique called "katazome," but it is hand-stitched.

Because the entire process from pattern making to dyeing is done by hand, even the same pattern has its own individuality.

When the frame shakes or the pattern is uneven—such handmade work gives the "shaking" a warm and lovable expression. It is an item that digital methods cannot express, allowing you to feel the breath of human hands.

A comfortable usability that you want to add to every day

With a size that fits snugly in both hands, it is not bulky even when put in a bag.
Also, small items such as lip creams and makeup tools can be put inside, making it just the right size.Yotsume dyeing cloth frame | Gamaguchi | SASHIKO unlimited flower mountain breeze | Yellow color yellow
Because it is a gamaguchi (clasp purse), the mouth opens wide and the opening and closing are smooth. You can easily open and close it with one hand to quickly take out and put in what you need, making it very convenient.

The gamaguchi is made with the "Yotsume dyeing cloth frame."
At this dye workshop, traditional Japanese techniques such as "katazome" and "tsutsumikaki" are used to create patterns on cloth, bringing to life products like gamaguchi purses.

On the surface of the gamaguchi, "katazome" is used.
Katazome starts with making stencils from original paper patterns. These stencils are placed on the cloth, and paste made from rice and bran is applied to create a resist. The areas covered by the paste do not get dyed, resulting in white parts of the pattern.

After the paste dries, dye is applied with a brush. If it is a single color, it finishes in one go, but when using multiple colors, each color is layered as if painting a picture.

Finally, when the paste is washed off with water, the pattern emerges vividly and the piece is complete.

In this way, a long process is taken to complete one piece of cloth, shaping the gamaguchi.

Patterns you can only find here

The "unlimited flower" pattern used in the gamaguchi is actually a flower imagined by Toyokazu Konoe of the "Yotsume dyeing cloth frame." It does not exist in reality and was born from the creator's imagination, making it a special design you can only find here.

The color is a vivid mountain breeze yellow. This bright yellow color, reminiscent of spring sunlight, beautifully lifts the mood of the person carrying it.
