This is a dyed towel called Yusuraume, which, when used as a hand towel, evokes a gentle and somewhat nostalgic scenery.

Based on the design by dyer Yumi Ishikita, the Hamamatsu Dyeing Workshop carefully dyed each piece one by one.

The beautiful gradation unique to dyeing and the depth of the dye without a front or back side add a gentle colorfulness to your daily life. It is also recommended as an interior accent or a gift.

Production Process

Dyeing Process Since all dyeing is done by hand, there are individual differences in the texture and color application of the dye. There are also color variations and uneven dyeing spots, but please enjoy these as the unique charm of hand-dyed products.

About the Artist

Yumi Ishikita (Ishikita Yumi)
A dyer living in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. She expresses the everyday scenery and nature with a modern sensibility using traditional techniques. She is highly regarded both in Japan and abroad.

  • 2012 Selected for the 86th National Exhibition for the first time
  • 2014 Received the Newcomer Award at the 88th National Exhibition
