Japan's unique dyeing technique "chusen"
Chusen is a unique Japanese dyeing technique that was created in Osaka during the Meiji period.
By pouring the dye into the cloth and dyeing it, you can dye as many as 20 to 30 pieces of cloth at a time.
The main feature of this method is that the cloth is stacked in a bellows pattern and dyed twice from the front and back, resulting in a beautiful finish that does not distinguish between the front and back.
The process is diverse, and everything is done by hand by craftsmen. Therefore, no two items are exactly the same.
The most appealing aspect of chusen is the unique texture created by the delicate shading and soft bleeds that can only be achieved by handwork.
