Dyeer Sayaro Yuzuki
Born in Tokyo in 1922. Studied art history at the University of Tokyo, but interrupted due to the war. While working at the Ohara Museum of Art, he encountered Soetsu Yanagi's ``Mingei'' and began his career in dyeing by studying under the dyeing and weaving artist Keisuke Serizawa.
Since then, he has been active as a leading expert in stencil dyeing, and held solo exhibitions in Paris from 2008 to 2010, receiving high acclaim. In 2014, over 70 of his works will be included in the collection of the Guimet National Museum of Oriental Art in France.
