Yotsume dyed cloth | Gama mouth | SASHIKO Aonori | Blue color Neibi

Price $1,027.00 TWD (Tax included)

The cloth dyed using the "katazome" technique is used as the surface fabric.

From stencil making to dyeing, the entire process is handmade, giving each piece a unique character even if the same stencil is used.

When the stencil vibrates or the pattern is uneven, this "vibration" creates an expression with a warm and affectionate feeling. It's an item that conveys the breath of human hands, something that cannot be digitally replicated.

Making the Gama mouth uses the "Yotsume dyed cloth" technique.
In our dyeing workshop, we create patterns on cloth using traditional Japanese techniques called "katazome" and "tsutsuzuri," then produce products such as Gama mouth purses using these materials.

The surface fabric of the Gama mouth uses "katazome."
Katazome starts with making stencil paper from original designs. The stencil paper is placed on the cloth, and a paste made from rice bran or soybeans is applied. The parts where the paste is applied do not get dyed, creating white patterns.

After the paste dries, dye is applied with a brush. A single color can be finished at once, but when using multiple colors, each color is layered like painting.

Finally, the paste is washed off with water, and the pattern vividly floats up, completing the design.

Through this long process, one piece of cloth is completed, and the shape of the Gama mouth is formed.

Stencils found only here

The "Unlimited Flower" stencil used for the Gama mouth is actually a flower stencil born from the imagination of Mr. Koichi Ono of "Yotsume dyed cloth." It does not exist in reality, so this is a special design that can only be found here.

The color is a vivid mountain breath yellow. The bright yellow color reminiscent of spring sunlight beautifully lifts the mood of the person carrying it.
