Handling precautions
- Both ends of the tenugui are left cut. When you first start using it, cut the weft with scissors or something similar as it will fray.
- When you first start using it, the excess dye will fade away every time you wash it, but it will calm down after washing it for 2-3 times.
- The bleaching effect of detergent may cause the color to fade rapidly. Using bleach detergents or highly alkaline detergents may damage and tear the fabric. Also, using hot water will warm the tenugui, and depending on the dye, it may bleed, leading to fading. When washing, wash by hand with plenty of water, lightly remove any wrinkles and dry it away from direct sunlight. Also, please do not leave it wet.
-In rare cases, tenugui may have a unique smell. The smell is often derived from dyes, so it will be reduced after washing and using it several times. Please use it with confidence.
