Takesasado Woodblock Designer and Woodblock Stylist.
He studied interior design at a vocational school, and after graduating, he worked as a production staff member under a Japanese paper sculptor and worked in papermaking and sculpture production.
Since then, he has been active as a designer in the field of paper, including creating Japanese sweets packaging and free paper.
After attending Takesasado Woodblock Printing Class, he entered the world of woodblock printing.
Using his knowledge of washi paper and commercial design, he creates woodblock designs that tastefully blend the old and new printing techniques.
He also serves as a press service, promoting the appeal of woodblock prints, and proposes styling of woodblock prints and woodblock accessories that suit your current lifestyle and interior design.
Brand: Takesasado
Founded in 1891 in Kyoto, Takenaka Woodblock has been carrying out a wide range of Kyoto print techniques, from reproductions of Japanese paintings to commercial printing for over 130 years.
The current head of the family, Takenaka Kiyohachi, studied old techniques and taught them to young people, while the fifth generation Takenaka Kenji founded Takesasado to create new jobs, and sold woodblock prints and paper stationery in stores.
The sixth generation Harada Yuko gained popularity for her designs that combine tradition and modernity, and Takesasado has grown.
Currently, he also works on restoring product packaging and old prints that make use of woodblock prints, and is constantly pursuing new possibilities.
