Color variations of Nanten pattern tea caddy

Nanten is a plant cherished since ancient times as a "warding off evil and misfortune" herb.

We designed a modern style that dyes the good fortune of the Nanten plant.

The colors come in a warm red series,

and a gentle blue series of two colors.

The colors blend naturally and have individuality, making them perfect items to brighten your tea time.

※ Since large paper sheets are cut to make these, there are individual differences in the arrangement of patterns. Please understand.

Beautifully preserving tea leaves, ensuring a rich tea time

The tea caddy holds 150g. The materials are lightweight yet sturdy, made with a reliable steel structure. Its high light-shielding properties prevent the tea leaves' aroma from deteriorating.

The inner lid is also made of steel, with high airtightness to protect the tea leaves from moisture and keep their freshness. You can always enjoy delicious tea. The inner lid has a handle for easy opening and closing.

The degree of moisture and temperature can also be controlled, making it recommended for preserving ingredients you want to keep fresh, such as tea leaves, tea bags, herbal teas, coffee beans, dried foods, spices, and sweets.

You can stack sweets and tea to create a perfect gift set or use it as a small container.

It is an item that quietly enriches your daily tea time with a perfect balance of beauty and practicality.

Distinctive craftsmanship of hand-dyed washi

The hand-dyed washi paper used for this tea caddy is an original from Fuwa Market. Skilled artisans dye each piece carefully by hand at a specialized workshop in Kyoto.

Through traditional techniques, it has a deep color and a unique harmony that is enchanting. When you look at the paper sheet, you can feel the delicate layering of colors unique to hand-dyed washi.

The subtle gradations and nuances brought about by the craftsmanship create a unique and unparalleled beauty.

Each edition is carefully dyed one by one, creating a depth and warmth that cannot be expressed by simple printing.
Every detail is carefully crafted to bring out the beauty of Japanese style. Each time you use it, you can feel the meaning of traditional patterns and Japanese craftsmanship.

Experience the charm of this harmony of warmth and craftsmanship born from artisans’ hands.

Wishes and prayers woven into traditional patterns

[Nanten Pattern]

Warding off evil with Nanten

Nanten is a plant passed down from ancient China during the peaceful era, treasured as a medicinal herb to suppress misfortune.

From the end of autumn to early winter, it bears many gentle red berries and is cherished as a plant that "turns hardship into happiness" from the reading of its name meaning "difficulties turn to fortune."

Also, placing it near the gate is said to repel bad spirits, giving it the meaning of warding off evil.

According to the Edo period encyclopedia Hyakka Jiten, "Planting Nanten prevents fires," and it was planted in many households as a fire prevention measure, protecting the safety of homes.

People have long wished for vitality with its strong life force, good luck with its broad leaves, and prosperity with its golden-colored leaves, expressing many hopes in the plant’s appearance.
