Color variations of the Nanten Patterned Memo Pad
Nanten is a plant cherished since ancient times for its properties of "warding off evil and misfortune."
We have designed a modern style by dyeing the good motifs of the plant.
The colors come in a warm red series,

and two gentle blue variations.

The colors blend harmoniously upon use, adding elegance to your desk.
※ Since the memo pads are made by cutting large sheets, there may be slight individual differences in the placement of the pattern. Please understand this in advance.
Fusion of crafted design and artisan skills

This distinguished memo pad is a special masterpiece handcrafted one by one by Kyoto artisans who specialize in paper box making.
The outer side uses hand-dyed Japanese paper, while the inner side adopts a different color, allowing you to feel the design’s refinement.
Every time you hold it, you’ll notice a design that makes using it enjoyable.
Bringing the beauty of Japanese style into everyday life

The memo pad size is approximately 10 cm (the memo paper size is about 9 cm). Just one on your desk creates a compact and easy-to-use size feel.

You can freely use it for shopping lists, ideas, notes, or ToDo lists.
Whether in the office or at home desk, for a little message to family or partner, for study, work, or business scenes — this distinguished memo pad makes it easy to jot down those daily "little things you want to write."
The hand-dyed Japanese paper adds beauty and makes the time spent writing memos a special moment.
Accent of color on the inside

The beauty when opened is also exquisite, using hand-dyed Japanese paper on both front and back covers. The color coordination with the pattern on the front is carefully designed to give a refined impression.
The delicate craftsmanship enables a smooth opening and closing. You will feel comfort every time you use it.
Elegant harmony in the inner design
For the bottom surface, instead of hand-dyed Japanese paper, a simple plain paper without texture is used.
While emphasizing the beauty of the paper, the design creates an atmosphere that feels relaxed yet refined, allowing you to enjoy different expressions between the front and back.
The perfect balance with the front side expresses a refined impression.
The charm of hand-dyed paper stands out in the details

The hand-dyed Japanese paper used for this distinguished memo pad is an original of Fuwa Market. Skilled artisans specializing in Japanese paper dyeing in Kyoto carefully handcraft each piece.

Thanks to traditional techniques, the deep color and unique blend are mesmerizing. Looking closely at the paper’s surface, you can sense the delicate layering of colors unique to hand-dyed Japanese paper.
The subtle gradations and nuances brought about by the craftsmanship create a unique beauty found nowhere else.

Each sheet is carefully dyed one by one, creating a depth and warmth that cannot be expressed by a simple print.
Every detail is refined to bring out the beauty of Japanese style. Each use allows you to feel the meaning of Japanese craftsmanship and traditional patterns.

We hope you will experience the charm of this unique blend of craftsmanship and warmth, brought to life by artisans.
Wishes and prayers embedded in traditional patterns
【Nanten Pattern】

The protective Nanten
Nanten is a plant passed down from ancient China during the Heian period, valued as a medicinal herb that suppresses evil spirits.
From the end of autumn to the beginning of winter, it bears many gentle red berries, symbolizing the wish to "turn hardships into blessings." The plant is also believed to prevent bad luck when placed near the entrance of homes.
In addition, its meaning as a protective charm against evil spirits is well known.
In the Edo period's encyclopedia of natural sciences, it is said that "planting Nanten prevents fire disasters," and it was widely planted by many households as a means of fire prevention and home safety.
Its strong vitality is associated with wishes for longevity, and its leaves are thought to attract good luck and financial fortune, with people often praying for these blessings in various forms.
